Since its introduction in 1975, close to a million Aphex Aural Exciters have found their way into recording studios and broadcast facilities, nightclubs and concert halls, arenas and airports, musicians' and DJs' rigs and houses of worship. The Aural Exciter's patented technology has been often imitated but never duplicated.

Each of the Aural Exciter's two independent channels feature Tune, Harmonics and Mix controls, enabling you to focus on select frequencies just like on an EQ. But unlike an EQ, the Aural Exciter's harmonic processing doesn't boost the signal's output level, so it maintains a clear and balanced sound.

Traditional EQ increases the output level of the targeted frequencies. Adding EQ to boost selected frequencies typically results in a perceived loss of other frequencies, which are then also boosted to compensate. The patented technologies within the 320D are totally unique. By going beyond conventional design ideas, the 320D provides audio processing with unprecedented sound transparency, yet is exceedingly effective at controlling levels. No other product can match the performance of the 320D. Algorithms like our "FDL", "DVG" and "DRC" have yet to find any rivals.

The 320D's Frequency Discriminate Leveler section, with the Dynamic Verification Gate and the Silence Gate, slowly adjusts the volume level of an audio stream with very complex algorithms that hide its work. It works differently at different frequencies and stops processing when the sound stops, then resumes instantly when the sound reappears, so there's no distracting increases in program background noise. When you listen, you know the levels are made more even, but you don't perceive the levels are shifting.

The 320D's Variable Slope Compressor, Dynamic Recovery Computer and Dynamic Verification Gate add adaptable compression to match the texture of changing audio sources. You don't hear pumping or other audio artifacts, just natural sound that is evenly consistent in loudness.

The 320D's limiter acts on peaks that shoot beyond average program levels so they are easy to handle by any analog or digital recording system.




The 320D can act as two independent mono processors or one linked stereo processor, which is selectable on the front panel. This is true with both analog and digital I/O.

When the analog input is used, the digital output contains the 320D's processing. When the digital input is used, the analog output contains the 320D's processing, properly leveled.

The Aphex IN2 is a USB interface conceived with the home project studio in mind. It includes 2 of Aphex’s Class A microphone preamps with top-quality analog to digital conversion and 2 DI instrument inputs, alongside a host of other amazing features and I/O connectivity all built into a compact chassis. Simple and easy to use, just connect it to your computer and get ready to record!

Input Versatility – We squeezed all the features we possibly could into the Aphex IN2.
Along with the 2 Class A mic preamps we have also included a 75Hz HPF, -20dB Pad, 48V Phantom power and an optical compressor in each channel.
There are 2 DI high impedance inputs for recording guitar and bass located at the front of the unit. Unique to the IN2, both channels of the IN2 feature an optical compressor which, when engaged, will help control the dynamics of your input signal while adding pleasing density and weight.

Class A Preamps – In most desktop audio interfaces, complaints that microphone preamps peak too easily and sound thin are quite common. This is never an issue with the Aphex IN2 – our 2 Class A mic preamps have ample headroom and sound big and warm. The multicoloured LEDs on top of the unit display input level and glow red when the preamp is peaking.

Total Monitoring Control – The Aphex IN2 was designed as a complete desktop recording solution for your home studio, which is why we have included additional monitoring features not found in other desktop interfaces.
There’s a mono button for making sure your mix is mono compatible and a dim switch for lowering the volume of the monitoring output.

Transformerless High Performance Audio Distribution

Model 120B is a high performance audio distribution amplifier with a single high impedance input and four low impedance outputs, all electronically servo-balanced and designed to be as transparent as possible. The 120's transformerless circuits are designed for wide, flat frequency response, free from ringing or overshoot, making it ideal for distribution of time code or audio. Each output has its own amplifier and level control for maximum versatility and isolation. The sturdy steel chassis may be used stand-alone or rackmounted, singly or in pairs.

Input

The input circuit is adjusted for optimal common-mode rejection. Servo-balancing compensates for high common-mode voltages, so headroom isn't sacrificed. The high input impedance allows bridging of the input signal with minimum loading. This way several amplifiers can be easily driven from the source.

Outputs

The individual output amplifiers are very low impedance so long lines and capacitive loads are easily driven with no loss of stability or high frequency response. Servo-balancing permits the outputs to be used single-ended at any time without a change in gain by simply grounding the unused pin. Individual output level controls are recessed for bump-proof operation, yet can be easily adjusted without tools. The front panel power LED also acts as a signal present and clip indicator for the input.

A Clean and Reliable Solution for Bidirectional Level and Impedance Matching

The Aphex Model 124B Audio Level Interface is designed to allow use of -10dBV consumer hi-fi equipment with +4 or +8dBm professional/industrial/broadcast audio systems. It provides an extremely clean, reliable two-way buffer so both systems can operate at maximum performance levels, matching impedances and operating levels.

Input

Servo-balancing means that high common mode voltages, such as induced hum from a nearby AC line, are compensated for to preserve headroom. The input impedance of 100K Ohms allows bridging over a 600 Ohm balanced or unbalanced line with negligible loading effects. Front panel switchable 600 Ohm load allows for input line termination when required.

Outputs

Servo-balancing allows the outputs to be used balanced or unbalanced (single-ended) at any time by simply grounding either unused pin. The servo compensates for the voltage loss on one side so there is no 6dB loss of level. The outputs are also protected against short-circuits, so nothing is damaged if the wrong pins are grounded. A front panel indicator will flash red when the balanced output level is 5dB below clipping.

Applications

Two-way interface amplifier for connecting any unbalanced device such as a cassette deck, equalizer, CD player or DAT deck to the IHF inputs and outputs. The balanced inputs and outputs go to a studio console, patchbay or other line level equipment. The different gains and impedances are matched for optimal performance.

Line driver. The servo-balanced input and output stages of the 124 can be used as a very effective line driver for long lines. The output stage provides a short-circuit proof, low impedance source that will be relatively unaffected by the impedance of the cable. Gain may even be taken to boost signal level. In this application, either the unbalanced IHF or balanced high level inputs may be used. For the latter, the IHF inputs and outputs are simply jumpered.
Signal splitter. The 124 may be used to provide two high quality balanced outputs from a single unbalanced mono signal A?Y? connector is used to split the incoming signal to each of the IHF unbalanced inputs.
